Overview

 

We are currently looking to recruit an Engineering Trainer with a specialism within CNC Machining to be part of the AMRC Training Centre Team. As an Engineering Trainer, you will be responsible for the curriculum development, delivery and assessment of the Engineering Training in Manual/CNC Machining/Hand Fitting for both the apprenticeship and technical pathways.

 

You will join the delivery team and will be responsible for the workshop-based training delivery of the Engineering Levels 3 through to 6 of the apprenticeship programme. You will be required to deliver teaching, learning and assessment to high quality standards.

 

You will have a Minimum Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline, (BTEC/NVQ/C&G/HNC) and relevant trade/industrial experience. You may already be a qualified Trainer, holding appropriate assessor/verifier qualifications. However, if you have the appropriate industrial experience, knowledge and skills, you will be required to undertake a level 4 Assessor/Coach qualification standard.

 

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality training and assessment in line with the Knowledge, Skills and behaviours set within the government apprenticeship standards.
  • Develop the curriculum, delivery materials and assessment methods for Engineering Standards for delivery in the AMRC Training Centre using an innovative methodology to engage learners.
  • Undertake tripartite learner progress reviews and assessments in the workshop environment.
  • Have accountability for developing enrichment activities, which link to the requirements of the overall apprenticeship standard, to enhance the offering of the AMRC Training Centre.
  • Assist, where necessary, in the procurement processes for the AMRC Training Centre, including capital and tooling requirements.
  • Provide data on learner progress to employers and senior managers, and act upon any issues resulting from this data.
  • Ensure learner feedback is captured, evaluated and fed into the Self-Assessment Process, to constantly look for improvement opportunities.
  • Assist all other departments with the roll out of new policies, procedures and activities.
  • To instil all Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare subjects, such as British Values, Prevent, Functional Skills, into all areas of the training.
  • Maintain the reputation of the AMRC Training Centre through the high-quality delivery, communications and professionalism of all learners and staff.
  • Ensure appropriate application of the Behaviour Support and Disciplinary Policy and process.
  • Attend any training sessions that are required to undertake the role, or for CPD requirements.
  • Support the AMRC Training Centre with STEM, recruitment and induction activities in and out of core AMRC TC business hours.
  • Highlight any learners that fall into the “at risk category” to management.

Essential criteria

 

  • To hold as a minimum a Level 3 qualification in engineering (BTEC/NVQ/C&G/HNC) and/or significant relevant experience - Application
  • To possess considerable experience of technical work in a CNC Machining engineering setting - Application & Interview
  • To hold a teaching qualification or willingness to undertake such a qualification on start - Application & Interview
  • To have effective verbal and written communication skills, both written and verbal, report writing skills, experience of delivering presentations, communicating to staff and stakeholders at all levels - Interview
  • To hold knowledge, experience and understanding of the important aspects of a successful team - Interview
  • To have the ability to develop creative approaches to problem solving - Interview
  • To hold the ability to analyse and solve problems with an appreciation of longer-term implications - Interview
