You will be a member of the Education Product Team, which is at the heart of delivering our strategic roadmap for education products. You will join a collaborative team which works with teaching colleagues, students and other parties to develop and deliver a growing suite of education and digital products. You will play a key role in maintaining and developing existing products as well as supporting the implementation of new products, all of which support the day-to-day learning, teaching and employability activities of the University.

 

You will utilise your experience of providing support to users of digital products and/or technical systems along with your excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills to work with a range of partners.

 

Main duties and responsibilities

 

  • Provide 3rd line support to a range of education products.  Subject to the products you are working on, this will include:
    • Providing system administration support to ensure the effective running and development of the products. This may include enabling functionality, handling permissions and managing users.
    • Support the implementation and maintenance of new products, app builds and integrations.
  • Support regular reviews of product usage - Querying databases and working with data to interpret usage and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage projects related to system updates/upgrades, which will involve working with suppliers, internal developers and other related stakeholders.
  • Work with users, suppliers, first- and second-line support to design and deliver excellent, engaging and up to date documentation.  This can include documentation in the appropriate format, for example video or written content.
  • Develop, use and maintain operational process documentation. This can include documentation of workflows, testing documentation, change auditing and maintaining of centralised helpdesk responses.
  • Work closely with the Education System Administrator Team Lead and Product Managers to implement objectives identified on the Education roadmap of solutions, to meet the University's needs. This involves taking business requirements and working to provide a system based solution.
  • Keep Education product-owned web pages up to date in line with any changes implemented and work with stakeholders for tools that are jointly supported as necessary.
  • Contribute to a network consisting of users and suppliers across the products you are supporting, to keep abreast of new developments and resolutions to any outstanding issues.
  • Build relationships with other Higher Education institutions to inform best practice and engage in knowledge sharing.
  • As a member of staff you will be encouraged to make ethical decisions in your role, embedding the University sustainability strategy into your working activities wherever possible
  • Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post
