You will be part of a team that develops, manages and improves the effective organisation of our examination and assessment activity within the School.  

You will work within clear policies and processes across the student assessment journey in order to meet regulatory requirements and consistently deliver educational excellence.

In addition to this you will also play a key role in supporting the Schools Quality Assurance and curriculum-related processes, ensuring professional body requirements are adhered to at all times. 

We are looking to appoint a supportive, organised and motivated individual who is committed to driving improvements within our programmes. The successful candidate will have experience of maintaining information with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail and will have previously supported student or programme-related processes. They will also be able to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work flexibly to support the activities of the team.

Main duties and responsibilities

●    Support the delivery of the Schools examinations, including preparation of materials, student support adjustments, and organisation of School invigilators.
●    Support all aspects of administration of curriculum development, including new/amended programmes, module amendments and suspended/closed programmes.
●    Ensure Learning Support Plans, including Exam Support Adjustments (ESAs) are implemented, working with colleagues from across the School, Faculty and University as required.
●    Support the School in the administration and delivery of the Medical Licensing Assessment (MLA), communicating with Medical School’s Council Assessment Alliance (MSCAA) and General Medical Council (GMC), as required.
●    Update, and maintain assessment policies, calendar and procedures for professional courses.
●    Support and suggest improvements related to assessment and feedback, particularly in response to issues of challenge raised by our students.
●    Support for the Schools examination processes, including but not limited to: examiner training and certification, External Examiner communications, OSCEs, MLA, IQA, standard-setting, question writing and any other duties related to the examination process.
●    Support committees and working groups which may include taking minutes and producing draft agendas for education related committee meetings.
●    Hold the Honorary Contract database; liaise with the staffing officer to ensure all new contract holders are aware of opportunities available to them in medical education and provide support and guidance where needed.
●    Build and engage with local, NHS and University networks to ensure up to date knowledge of internal and external assessment policy and procedures.
●    Support the wider team to take forward relevant education, assessment and curriculum related projects and activities as required, to ensure that the School is able to deliver the full remit of its responsibilities in a timely and effective manner.
●    Work on own initiative, flexibly and largely unsupervised; recognising when to refer matters to senior colleagues.
●    Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.
