Overview
IT Services are advertising a challenging and rewarding role as part of our growing Integration Team.
This role will focus on data integrations for our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Blackboard Ultra, but you may work on other areas as required. We are building a modern API led approach in AWS to Integrations across our estate and are modernising the ETL integrations between Blackboard and our student record systems.

Main duties and responsibilities
- Work on the ongoing development of our VLE and the surrounding components and integrations
- Design and build ETL and event-based integrations
- Ensure systems are kept up to date and secured regularly and plan maintenance work alongside new development
- Working with third party suppliers for systems and software which we procure such as Blackboard
- Ensure all work is supportable including good documentation, logging and error handling, knowledge sharing with other colleagues, automation of standard processes, appropriate testing, security, maintainability etc.
- Maintaining existing integrations supported by the team
- Modernising legacy integrations using current tools
- Work as a member of project and Scrum teams, as well as independently, on a variety of projects
- Keep up to date with new technologies and improve existing skills and advise on the use of emerging technologies and trends
- Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post
