An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Systems and Data Manager role within the Department of Finance. The role will sit within our Procurement team and will lead on systems management and integrity of data inputted and extracted on behalf of both Procurement and our internal stakeholders. We are looking for an individual with substantial experience and skills in relation to system management, analysis and development. Experience in improving data quality in relation to systems will also be key. You will work with colleagues both within Procurement, the wider Finance department and with system suppliers to drive best practice in systems usage.
The post holder will work with systems that typically include, but are not limited to our SAP ERP system, approved product catalogue, a credit rating agency system, internally written systems utilising both databases and spreadsheets. There will be scope for the post holder to directly contribute to both the development of our existing systems as well as potential new systems to automate our existing processes.
Data quality is key to our efficient operations, the post holder will drive data quality improvements where they are identified, providing guidelines and guidance where they are required.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Act as the operational owner for all Procurement utilised information and data systems, ensuring they are well maintained and fit for purpose
- Serve as the main point of contact between Procurement and the internal Finance Business Systems team and systems suppliers as appropriate
- Oversee data input quality, data cleansing and general system housekeeping, working with data inputters in improving quality and consistency
- Support the development of accurate and reliable procurement reporting for both the Procurement team and other internal stakeholders
- Leading on regular reviews on the fitness for purpose of existing systems and they ways they are used
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes through better use of systems and data
- Provide guidance to end-users in efficient and correct usage in operating the systems
