Overview

 

We are looking for a team player to join our lab to help us finish a project on understanding the fundamental molecular and cellular changes of the testis with ageing, which may underpin increased morbidity in the offspring of older fathers. The job would suit someone who would be willing to work part-time 2 days per week until September and full-time, 5 days a week, from September until end of April.

 

We use Zebrafish as a model, and we are looking for a candidate with a good fundamental knowledge of Reproductive Biology, Histopathology and Physiology and expertise in Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence and microscopy imaging. We will favour someone with previous adult zebrafish histology experience.

 

Main duties and responsibilities

 

  • Prepare adult zebrafish tissue sections.
  • Carry out histopathology analysis.
  • Carry out immunohistochemistry/ immunofluorescence on adult zebrafish tissue sections.
  • Carry out microscopy imaging and basic analysis using ImageJ under guidance from Principal Investigator or Research Associate. 
  • Carry out other duties as a team, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.
