Overview
The University of Sheffield’s new MSc in Digital Marketing degree launches in September 2026 and we are seeking an additional team member to join us as we deliver this innovative programme, as well as our existing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
In this role, you will specifically contribute to the development and delivery of our digital marketing teaching, within our integrated undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum. You will be a key member of the curriculum design team, working with colleagues from all marketing and creative and cultural industries themes. You will also develop your administrative experience through taking a key course level role such as Module Leader, etc.
Candidates for this post should have experience of delivering digital marketing teaching, through lectures, workshops and seminars, in a Higher Education setting. Candidates should also show a commitment to developing their national and/or international profile in marketing education.
A commitment to fresh thinking, flexibility and adaptability in approach are more essential to this role.

Main duties and responsibilities
- Working with the Marketing and Creative and Cultural Industries (MCCI) Subject Group, develop and deliver digital marketing teaching within the School’s taught programmes, ensuring that it is accessible, inclusive and contributes to the University’s Education Strategy Delivery Plan.
- Improve and enhance the student experience and student outcomes through programme delivery based on a detailed understanding of student needs and professional requirements.
- Behave ethically in all aspects of your role and act as a role-model for our students
- Undertake scholarship activities in digital marketing education, appropriate to the role, that have a positive impact on student outcomes and are influential on a national / international level
- Engage in recruitment and outreach activities which may include activities outside standard working hours, for example Open Days.
- Engage in core administrative areas to support the delivery of the MCCI programmes e.g. student advising and mentoring.
- Provide effective line management where required.
- Represent the institution with external stakeholders (within and outside the profession) to foster collaboration, at a regional or national level as required
- Work according to University quality assurance processes and other regulatory frameworks including Professional Regulatory bodies e.g. CIM
- Actively contribute to the collective interests and values of the University through individual action and inclusive, collaborative working.
- Make a full and active contribution to the principles of the ‘Sheffield Academic’. These include the achievement of excellence in applied teaching and research, and scholarly pursuits to make a genuine difference in the subject area and to the University’s achievements as a whole.
